The area surrounding the Okinawa Convention Center is packed with the sights and sounds of the city including Ginowan Tropical beach and an open air theater. The city also features the historic Futenma Shrine with its 280 meter shrine caves and the Sakima Art Museum dedicated to The Battle of Okinawa and other themes.
One of the eight major shrines of the Ryukyu Islands two large temples with golden ornamented trim stand between the modern buildings of Ginowan . Within the grounds are the 280 meter-long Futenma Shrine caves, these caves were the original place of worship for the Okinawan people.
