The Okinawa Flower Festival is an event that takes place from January to May each year all over Japan’s most southern prefecture. On Kumejima Island most of the events and activities take place in February in and around the island’s beautiful Daruma Park.

At the Kumejima Island Okinawa Flower Festival visitors can get a chance to take lessons on many matters concerning flowers and enjoy an extensive exhibition on Bonsai trees. The main attraction of the festival are the over 800 Kume Kurenai and Kume Shiranami flowers that bloom at Daruma Park.
