The Earliest Cherry Blossoms in Japan

“The earliest cherry blossoms in Japan!”…with this catch phrase, “The 32nd Mt. Motobu Yaedake Cherry Blossom Festival” started in Motobu Town today.  The festival is held until February 7, 2010.

On the road to the peak of Mt Yeadake, cherry blossom showed strong signs of blossoming, causing many visitors to get their cameras out.

In most arreas, only 10-20 percent of the cherry blossoms are in bloom, but in some places you can find 70 percent of the cherry blossoms in bloom.

During the festival period, various events are held including “Yaedake Sakura Daimyojin” where you can make a wish to the earliest cherry blossoms in Japan.

From January 27 to 30, traffic regulation will take place on the road to the peak.  Instead shuttle busses will operate.
